Every few months, WATCH is contacted by someone from a parish where they have discovered that a group of people, or perhaps the incumbent, are proposing a PCC meeting to “pass a Resolution” . The purpose of this is nearly always to request that the parish comes under the oversight of a bishop who does not accept ordained women.   If the Resolution is passed, it also usually means that no ordained woman will be able to lead services or be appointed to the parish. Most people, even Church Wardens, do not know about this process, what it may mean for the church and community,  or how it should happen, and so WATCH has produced this short guide to explain what the terminology means, what the p[process should be, and suggest ways of consulting widely.

If you think there is anything else that would be helpful to include,  let us know and we will note this for any future editions.
