The UN Commission on the Status of Women meets in New York every year to consider progress on the status of women across the world, and work towards their full equality and liberation. The Anglican Communion gathers a delegation to attend, giving the opportunity for Anglican women from across the Provinces to share their experiences (an informal non-Primates meeting?). This year Jenny Humphreys, a WATCH member and member of General Synod, represented the Church of England. The delegate from the Scottish Episcopal Church has written a blog giving a flavour of the event.

Most people have never heard of UNCSW, but it is the grouping that has probably had the most influence in changing the fate of women and girls over the past two decades.

And Anglican delegation there in New York that has re-affirmed the statement of commitment to stay together within the Communion, despite their differences.
