Paula Gooder was the keynote at WATCH ‘s second gender study day held in conjunction with Queen’s Birmingham on Saturday. Her lecture was entitled ‘Women Leaders in the Pauline Communities’ and, after examining the likely leadership roles of the many women mentioned in Paul’s epistles, we were guided through a fascinating exploration of 1 Timothy 2 and I Corinthians 14 before examining Paul’s metaphor of headship. Dr Gooder was on excellent form as usual. Her scholarship and skills of communicating complex ideas in an accessible way were, as always, greatly appreciated.
The next study day is on Saturday March 16th when Professor Elaine Graham will be talking on ‘Theories of Gender’. To book or find out more please contact [email protected]
