Book Launch: ‘Edgewise? Experiences of some Anglican lay women’:
This event is open to all and the book is likely to be of interest to many WATCH supporters and members, focusing on the experiences and reflections of a number of lay women who have shared their journeys in company and community over many years.
A year ahead of the thirtieth anniversary of the Church of England General Synod approving legislation to allow women to become priests, you’re invited to reflect with a group of older Anglican lay women on what has changed, what has yet to change, and what still needs to be re-imagined.
We hope this will be a conversation between young and old, among old friends and new who are concerned with the place and status of women both in the Church of England (narrowly) and in the wider Church as well as across the world.
Nicola Slee, Elaine Graham and Sara Maitland will be in conversation at St James’s Piccadilly on 27 October at 6.30pm. The event is open to all, and in addition to the speakers there will be drinks and chat.
